Therapist: "Before we start, do you still wear (pressure) garments?"
Patient: "No, I don't."
Therapist: "How long ago did you stop wearing them?"
Patient: "I wore my garments for 13 months, solid. I wore the garments every day--24 hours."
Therapist: "Every day--what was that like?
Patient: "At first, I hated it, because they were hot and itched a lot. And then after that, by the 13th month, I didn't even want to take them off. Because they became like a security blanket."
Therapist: "So is there a big difference between now, between wearing the garments and not wearing them?"
Patient: "Oh, yeah."
Therapist: "Do you still have problems with itching?"
Patient: "No. None at all."
Therapist: "OK. Let's take a look."
"Could you raise your arms above your head for me?
Bring them around in front.
And up again."
"Can you put your hands behind your head?
And your elbows back? Beautiful."
"Put your hands in your pockets for me; in your back pockets.
Can you bend your elbows? Straighten them out. Pull your wrists back, and down.
Make a tight fist again. And open wide.
Bring your thumbs over to your pinkies for me. And down here. Good.
Bring your thumbs way out. Good. Beautiful."
"Look up at the ceiling for me. And down.
Look over your shoulder. And the other shoulder. Very good. Thank you!"
